Representative Matt Hudson will present a check in the amount of $135,000, from the state Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP). The Grant is for the Immokalee Sports Complex. The presentation will take place on Friday, October 3 at 11 a.m. at the facility in Immokalee.
On September 11, 2007, the Board of County Commissioners approved applying for a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program grant for improvements to the Immokalee Sports Complex to provide the highest quality sport complex facilities at the lowest possible cost by utilizing available grants programs.
The grant requires a 50% monetary fund, in-kind services and/or land value match and the project shall be completed by April 30, 2011. Grant proceeds will be used to renovate the soccer field, diving boards, bathhouse, locker rooms and other related support facilities to provide recreational and competitive sport activities at the sport complex.
“I am proud to be able to present this check to this very deserving community in my district.” said Representative Matt Hudson. “Recreational opportunities at quality parks bring people together and help build stronger communities with a renovated sense of place.”
