Representative Hudson stands up for the Constitution!

July 1st, 2009 · No Comments · Blog, Press Releases

Representative Matt Hudson and two of his Florida House of Representative colleagues Representative Scott Plakon and Representative Ritch Workman have filed House Memorial 19. This Memorial often referred to as the 10th Amendment resolution is an attempt to simply get our Federal elected officials to adhere to their oaths of office. The 10th Amendment says:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

HM19 serves as a notice and a demand by the people of the state of Florida as expressed through their legislature to the Federal Government to cease and desist from going beyond the scope of and issuing mandates beyond it’s constitutionally delegated powers. It also reasserts Florida’s sovereignty under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

Representative Hudson hopes that you will follow the progress at www.flfreedom.org and that you will encourage every elected official in the Florida Legislature to support their oaths of office by supporting HM 19.
