September 12th, 2008 · No Comments · Blog, Press Releases

Representative Matt Hudson organized a meeting today with Department of Emergency Management in Tallahassee Florida ensuring the Immokalee Farmer’s Market receives its reconstruction funding. This funding was promised by FEMA to rebuild the damage and destruction caused by the hurricanes in 2004 and 2005.

State Farmer’s Markets are the initial incubators for agribusiness within the State of Florida. Farmer markets help the local farmers sell their products to the public. At this meeting the Immokalee Farmer’s Market was guaranteed reconstruction funds now and in the future. This will strengthen Immokalee’s historical agribusiness and help to ensure its future.

“The Federal Government should not impede businesses in the State of Florida”, Representative Hudson said. “Ensuring the funding for the Immokalee Farmer’s Market is my way of making government work for the businesses and people of Immokalee.”
