FLORIDA DENTAL ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
2009 LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Dental Association (FDA) has chosen Representative Matt Hudson (R-Naples) as one of the 2009 Legislators of the Year. The award recognizes Rep. Hudson for his dedication to dental health care efforts in local and statewide arenas.
“Rep. Hudson has shown his commitment to good oral healthcare for all Floridians,” said FDA President Dr. Charles W. Hoffman. “We are happy to recognize our strong advocate with this annual award.”
Known for his diligent work ethic, Rep. Hudson sponsored CS/HB 185, shepherding it unanimously through the committees and passing it unanimously on both the House and Senate floors. Rep. Hudson is consistently supportive of dental and healthcare issues and has been a strong advocate for the FDA’s legislative agenda. On July 25, Representative Hudson had the privilege of receiving his legislator of the year award from his personal dentist, Dr. Miguel Castro of Naples, at the West Coast District Dental Association meeting. “It was such an honor for me to receive this significant award from the FDA and to have it presented by my personal dentist and friend, Dr. Miguel Castro”, Said Representative Hudson. “This bill is important because it increases access to dental services to Floridians and reduces cost. This will benefit my constituents in district 101 as well as all Floridians.”
