Hudson fights for Jobs!!!

Representative Hudson is a member of the Economic Development policy committee and has been a longtime advocate for job creation in the State and his District. Most recently he has been advocvating for a fair compact to be ratified for Indian gaming. This spring the Representative voted no on a compact he deemed to be punitive to the residents of his District as it would have prevented the creation of nearly 2000 jobs. The Representative has been very busy advocating for his constituents since the no vote and as a result it would appear that the community will in fact be the beneficiary of 2000 new jobs. Keep up the good work on the committee. I don’t understand why more people don’t get the simple fact that more jobs = better for everyone. I’m not saying we should allow just any business to come to Collier County but these are reputable businesses that will do amazing things for the area. Just think about how big 2000 people are in a crowd. That’s something that will completely change our community.

Accomplishments

Economy- Co-Sponsored and passed HB 485 Fast track economic stimulus for small business. This bill will encourage the investment of capital in low income communities to reward innovation, create jobs , and transform communities.

Healthcare- Sponsored and passed HB 185 which will provide greater access to dental care in rural communities. The bill will also eliminate monopolies created by insurance companies that restrict access. This bill actually increases access and lowers costs.

Crime- Co-Sponsored and passed HB 123 a bill that will work to criminalize Human Smuggling at the state level in order to stem the flow of illegal immigration and human slavery.

Less Government- Sponsored and passed HB 651 a bill that streamlines and creates greater efficiency and less government within the Agency for Healthcare Administration.

Children- Co-Sponsored and passed HB 453 a bill that expands the opportunities for children from low income families to be able to receive educational scholarships through the Corporate Income tax credit scholarship program.

Property Taxes - Sponsored and passed HB 701 to provide property owners with good consumer information on their TRIM (property tax) notice. Tax payers should know what they are paying and for what services.
